Open Empathic Dataset

Voice is a natural form of communication. Outside of transferring information, the human voice holds many paralinguistic features, such as the emotional state and the speaker's intention.

With this dataset, we aim to enable those who have otherwise lost the ability to speak naturally and emotionally, bring about a more natural conversation between humans and machines and enable immersive experiences within interactive technologies.

We collect only the minimal amount of personal data needed to provide our service. This includes:

• Your email address, which is used for administrative purposes such as resetting your password or contacting you about your account. We will not share your email address with third parties without your consent.
• The number of recordings you make and the total hours of recordings. This allows us to understand usage patterns and improve our service.
• Optional demographic data such as your age and gender. Providing this is entirely voluntary and is not required to use our service.
• We anonymize all data before using it for analytical purposes. Your personal information remains private.
